The Firework Heart

Released as part of At the Root Theatre's Let'sTalk Festival, ''The Firework Heart' is a lyrical monologue about the life of a young man living with bipolar disorder.

I went abroad, over sea, School was out, boys were free To break out of our boxes; And we did, it was great, Crates of beer, watching waves, Hit the clubs, celebrate, Leave the work, bring the play. Something changed… Missing nights, mental haze, Getting worse, losing days And when it ends my friends don’t recognise the guy they took away.
